Venue Guidelines

The following policies and guidelines must be adhered to:

  • No open flames except the candles that are provided or approved by the Satanic Temple Salem. Electronic candles are fine.
  • Please do not hang, nail or tack anything (art, decor or otherwise) on the walls.
  • No smoking inside the building.
  • Please do not use confetti or throwing glitter.
  • Any caterers or bartenders brought in as part of your event must be licensed and insured and this info must be provided to us in advance.
  • Any decor or props you chose to bring in as part of your event must be promptly removed by you at the end of your booking.
  • The Salem Art Gallery and The Satanic Temple are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • The Satanic Temple Salem reserves the right to stop any ceremony and remove any guest who is behaving inappropriately.
  • Bookings cancelled less then 30 days from the event date are non-refundable.
  • All October bookings are non-refundable, regardless of notice. This is due to the incredibly high demand for services and inquiries during this time of year in Salem.
  • Only a Minister of Satan can conduct your ceremony and one will be provided to you. This is to ensure the ceremony is rooted in The Satanic Temple’s traditions and values.
  • Couples are responsible for obtaining a marriage license from the city of Salem prior to the ceremony to provide to the Minister of Satan. The Minister will sign it and give it back to the couple who will then need to return it to City Hall in Salem.
  • The Satanic Temple Salem has a capacity limit of 45. Ceremonies, events and any other booking shall not exceed this.
  • Couples are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their guests or outside vendors brought in. A security deposit or damage waiver may be required in some cases.
  • Please arrive promptly for your booked time frame so the ceremony can begin and conclude within the designated time. Every effort will be made to accommodate when possible, however, in the case of late arrival, the booked time frame will still commence at the previously scheduled time and end at the previously scheduled time, as there may be other clients booked immediately after you to use the space.
  • Any blood rituals included as part of your ceremony must be done under the guidance and supervision of a licensed medical professional or phlebotomist, as designated by The Satanic Temple Salem. This is to ensure the safety of our guests, clients and staff.
